                    [post_content] => St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woodlawn, VA, is seeking  a Hispanic Ministry Pastoral Associate to animate liturgy, coordinate different ministries at the parish, and propose new programs that benefit parishioners. This position would be the go to person in all matters related to Hispanic ministry in the parish, and requires one to have good command of both English and Spanish.



Duties include: Organizing, scheduling and monitoring programs of the following ministries: Catechists, Facilitator groups and Liturgy groups; preparing an annual budget for the ministries related to the Hispanic community; preparing an annual calendar of events; communicating with members of the Hispanic community about parish events and programs; facilitating Advent and Lent retreats for the parish community and volunteer leaders; identifying, recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to form new groups of coordinators in the various ministries; facilitating and coordinating catechesis to the parents of children preparing for the sacraments such as baptism and preparing the facilitator of these ministries; working with the parish secretary to propose and organize summer activities for adults, young adults and the youth; and coordinating the choirs both for adults and for the children, participating in the choir of the masses when necessary.

St. Joseph Catholic School in Petersburg, VA, seeks a highly qualified, innovative and strategic leader for the position of Development and Enrollment Director. The Development and Enrollment Director will be responsible for the overall planning, management, coordination, and evaluation of the enrollment management, development, communications and constituent/public relations programs of the school. The Development and Enrollment Director will work to create and support a culture of philanthropy within the school and will plan, manage, and implement the marketing, recruitment and retention of students. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with 3 years minimum related experience in enrollment management, development, sales, marketing, communication, and/or volunteer management. In addition, the successful candidate will possess an ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for Catholic elementary education. This candidate will demonstrate leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals along with an ability to build a team, effectively recruiting and managing volunteers.   • Assemble deposits and take them to the bank.
  • Prepare reports for the Principal, the School Board and the diocese as needed.
  • Regularly back up to the diocese.
  • Perform all close out procedures in Ledger each month, quarter and year.
  • Be familiar with the FACTS accounting system, enrollment payments through RenWeb, the Café accounts and all financial aid processes in order to assist and oversee the work of the bookkeeper.
  • Serve as a member of the Financial Aid Committee to determine appropriate distribution of financial aid.
  • Apply financial aid decisions in FACTS and on the school’s tuition spreadsheets and communicate decisions to parents.
  • Monitor and report delinquencies and communicate with parents to try to resolve delinquencies in a timely manner.
  • Attend School Advisory Board meetings.
  • Assemble and finalize the budget annually with the Principal.
  • Oversee the budget and accounting of the school to keep School Leadership (Principal, Administrative Team and School Board) aware of the overall financial picture and to alert them when unanticipated expenditures arise or when spending deviates from the projected budget.
  • Other financial duties as needed and/or as assigned by the Administration.
Human Resources
  • Process Payroll on a biweekly basis, ensuring that the correct information on pay rates, hours, benefits withholdings, taxes and other deductions are correctly entered into the IOI payroll system.
  • Assist employees with matters pertaining to benefits and payroll.
  • Onboard new employees into the IOI system an CID per diocesan requirements.
  • Maintain, with the assistance of the bookkeeper, all personnel files.
  • Prepare all faculty contracts and staff agreements annually.
  • Maintain records for diocesan reporting.
  • Ensure that all employees receive and return necessary documents during Open Enrollment.
  • Other HR duties as needed and/or as assigned by Administration.
Professional Qualifications:  Must hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience, be proficient in Parish Data System, Excel and Word, possess strong organizational and communication skills and interpersonal skills for dealing with employees, parents and members of the School Board and Administrative Team. The Coordinator of Social Ministry facilitates connections between the needs of individuals, the parish and the community with those who can be of service (whether professionals or volunteers), empowers the parish to fulfill the church's mission of justice and reconciliation through communal organized response to societal needs, and oversees and coordinates active parish social ministry programs which contain service, education, advocacy and action components. This is a 30-hour full time position. The hours are flexible and may include both evening and weekend hours.

This position would: Organize, schedule and oversee various social ministry programs; Prepare a yearly calendar of events and an annual budget; Secure background checks and VIRTUS training for all volunteers working with children and youth; Promote the social teaching of the church; Recruit, train and support volunteers; Promote Legislative Advocacy through voter registration drives and Virginia Catholic Conference Membership; Oversee various ministries and volunteers; And assist parishioners with immigration matters.

Qualifications: Must have a working knowledge of the Church's social teachings. BA in Theology or Ministry with course work in social sciences and/or equivalent experience. Strong background in program development preferred, with the ability to create, analyze and implement programs through the program development method of needs assessment, strategic planning and implementation. Finance

  • Assemble deposits and take them to the bank.
  • Prepare reports for the Principal, the School Board and the diocese as needed.
  • Regularly back up to the diocese.
  • Perform all close out procedures in Ledger each month, quarter and year.
  • Be familiar with the FACTS accounting system, enrollment payments through RenWeb, the Café accounts and all financial aid processes in order to assist and oversee the work of the bookkeeper.
  • Serve as a member of the Financial Aid Committee to determine appropriate distribution of financial aid.
  • Apply financial aid decisions in FACTS and on the school’s tuition spreadsheets and communicate decisions to parents.
  • Monitor and report delinquencies and communicate with parents to try to resolve delinquencies in a timely manner.
  • Attend School Advisory Board meetings.
  • Assemble and finalize the budget annually with the Principal.
  • Oversee the budget and accounting of the school to keep School Leadership (Principal, Administrative Team and School Board) aware of the overall financial picture and to alert them when unanticipated expenditures arise or when spending deviates from the projected budget.
  • Other financial duties as needed and/or as assigned by the Administration.
Human Resources
  • Process Payroll on a biweekly basis, ensuring that the correct information on pay rates, hours, benefits withholdings, taxes and other deductions are correctly entered into the IOI payroll system.
  • Assist employees with matters pertaining to benefits and payroll.
  • Onboard new employees into the IOI system an CID per diocesan requirements.
  • Maintain, with the assistance of the bookkeeper, all personnel files.
  • Prepare all faculty contracts and staff agreements annually.
  • Maintain records for diocesan reporting.
  • Ensure that all employees receive and return necessary documents during Open Enrollment.
  • Other HR duties as needed and/or as assigned by Administration.

This is a full-time (minimum 40 hours/week) professional ministry position.  Night and weekend work is necessary primarily during the academic year.  The position also requires travel to meetings and diocesan events, reimbursable through the approved budget.
