Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Catholic School in Powhatan, VA is seeking an Assistant Principal.
The Assistant Principal reports to the Head of School and assists in the day-to-day operation of the school’s academic program, the development and supervision of the faculty, and the individual student’s academic progress. The Assistant Principal will support and assist with the responsibilities of the Head of School and provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of the school’s curriculum and instructional services, assessments and evaluations in accordance with the Diocesan Consensus Curriculum.
In the absence of the Head of School, the Assistant Principal is the administrator in charge. The Assistant Principal works closely with the administrative staff, Counseling Department and Learning Support Department. He/she will assist with recruitment, admission, and enrollment efforts as well as will review and help develop student policies, and participate in strategic planning. The Assistant Principal will be a practicing Catholic who is familiar with and an adherent of the gospel values and the structure of the school’s mission.
Qualifications ·A practicing Catholic who understands and is dedicated to the ministry of Catholic education. -A Master’s degree in Education (Commonwealth of VA Endorsement in Administration and Supervision required); five years teaching and/or administrative experience. ·Knowledge and demonstrated ability of leadership, management, organizational, technological, and communication skills. ·High level of professionalism coupled with strong collaborative, communicative, creative, and critical thinking skills.
