Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Harrisonburg is seeking a Bi-Lingual Executive Assistant, Volunteer and Hispanic Coordinator (all one position).
Responsible for providing secretarial, administrative and related office services for the Pastor, Parochial Vicar, Business Manager and Parish Ministry Staff by personally performing more difficult and sensitive tasks. Works in conjunction with, and at the direction of, the Pastor & Parochial Vicar to provide administrative support to the Hispanic communities within the parish. Acts as Pastor’s/Vicar’s/Staff’s interpreter for communication with the Hispanic community as well as providing administrative assistance, assisting in the various events, ministries and parish daily operations. Recruits and supervises volunteers needed to help with clerical support, ministries, hospitality and religious education working in cooperation with the leaders of each part of the parish leadership and staff. Promotes a team environment through active participation in ongoing communications, demonstrates a positive attitude and mutual respect through adherence to established policies, procedures and protocols.
Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing; high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; high level of organization; active member of Roman Catholic Community; an above average knowledge of the Catholic Faith; familiarity with sacramental records helpful; flexibility and a team minded focus.
