Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a full-time Business Manager to oversee parish administration, to include finance, human resources, facilities, information technology and administrative support.
The Business Manager will oversee all financial activities in accordance with federal and state regulations and diocesan policies and guidelines to include, but not limited to, monthly/quarterly/and year-end financial reports, preparing/administering and monitoring budget processes, etc. The successful candidate will also ensure compliance with the diocesan policy and procedure manual, as well as all federal and state employment laws. The Business Manager will oversee payroll, benefit and leave administration and direct the operation of the parish office.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Administration, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field and a minimum of five years of related employment, preferably in a parish capacity. Prior supervisory experience is required. Required skills include strong interpersonal skills, planning and organizing, and demonstrated experience in accounting principles/budget preparations. Working knowledge of the structure and teachings of the Catholic Church is desired.
