St. Pius X Catholic Church, Norfolk, VA, is seeking a full-time (35 hrs.) Business Manager to oversee parish administration, including finance, human resources, facilities, risk management, and supervision of administrative support.
The Business Manager oversees all financial activities in accordance with federal and state regulations and diocesan policies and guidelines to include reporting, preparing and monitoring budget processes. All banking and reconciliation fall within the scope of the Business Manager as well as managing church collections and counting teams. This position is responsible for HR processes such as payroll, benefit and leave administration, administrative appraisals and the direct operation of the parish office. The Business Manager obtains bids/contracts and files projects with the Diocesan Building and Grounds Committee as required. This position seeks to maintain all parish properties in good repair through vendors, contractors, maintenance personnel and volunteers; responsible for risk management of parish property.
Qualifications are a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Administration, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field and a minimum of three years of related employment, preferably in a parish capacity. Prior supervisory experience is required. Required skills include strong interpersonal and communications, planning/organizing, and demonstrated experience in accounting principles/budget preparation. Working knowledge of the structure and teachings of the Catholic Church is desired. The candidate must be a Catholic in good standing and will be asked to provide a reference who can attest to Catholic Sacraments, including marriage if it applies. This is a salaried position.
