The Diocese of Richmond’s Office of Social Ministries is excited to bring back Shine: Social Ministry Summit, 2017. This is a two-day event that invites ​you ​to ​enter ​more ​deeply ​into ​the ​heart ​of ​the ​Gospel by engaging in works of mercy while ​serving ​the ​Lord ​and ​the ​’least ​of ​His ​brethren.’ We extend an invitation to all parishioners who are interested in the social mission of the Church. Some keynote speakers include Bob Lesnefsky (founder of Dirty Vagabond Ministries), the Missionaries of the Poor from Jamaica, and Fr. Michael Renninger, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richmond.

Esta convocación promueve la formación continua de nuestros líderes parroquiales trabajando en la catequesis o facilitando algún grupo ( Escuela de San Andrés, Grupos de Oración, Kerigma, etc) Este evento cumple con el requisito diocesano de 3hrs de formación continual anual para mantener vigente el certificado de PATHWAYS.

El tema de este año es la Religiosidad Popular, una riqueza importante de conservar entre el pueblo y la fe latina. El conferencista es  Javier W. Bustamantees el Director Ejecutivo de la Oficina de Diversidad Cultural y Outreach en la Arquidiócesis de Washington D.C. Con una maestría en estudios latinoamericanos de la Universidad de Georgetown, licenciatura en Teología Pastoral de la Universidad Loyola Marymount y veinte años de experiencia ministerial. This new interactive monthly webinar is designed to explore a variety of topics related to the joys and challenges that we experience in the face of Jesus’ challenge to “Go, and make disciples…”.
