All Scouts and adults are invited to take an in-depth tour of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, the home church of the Richmond Diocese. The tour will provide both fascinating history and a wonderful exhibition of our faith in our beautiful cathedral. Following the tour, Scouts will attend the Ordination Mass where three deacons will be ordained into holy orders as priests. The Ordination Mass will be an impressive and moving faith experience for all who attend. After the Ordination Mass, Scouts and their parents will enjoy a pizza lunch in the Cathedral courtyard adjacent to the Cathedral. During lunch, Father Matt Kiehl, Chaplain to Scouting for the Central/Western Vicariate, will lead a discussion with the Scouts that will fulfill several requirements of the Ad Altare Dei Religious Emblems Award.
There is no charge for this event, but pre-registration is required. Lunch will be provided. Register by May 19th by sending an email to [email protected]. In your email please indicate your commitment to attend and the number of people who will be attending with you.

The Diocesan Work Camp is a weeklong camp experience for high school youth to serve our brothers and sisters in need by making their homes safer, warmer, drier, and greener while also having the opportunity to grow in our Catholic faith.
Work Camp is not just a youth event. It is an opportunity for parishes to make a difference in the lives of those in need right here in our diocese while encouraging youth to answer their baptismal call to serve others.
