The Museum of Virginia Catholic History maintains two exhibits located in the Baptistery Gallery and Crypt & Undercroft of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. The Cathedral is located at 18 N. Laurel Street, at the intersection of Floyd Avenue (also known as Cathedral Place) and N. Laurel Street in Richmond’s Fan District. There is two-hour street parking available along Floyd Avenue. The VCU parking deck, located nearby on N. Laurel Street, provides optional parking.


Arriving from the East by Interstate 64
– Take Exit #190 for Fifth Street and Downtown/Coliseum. Turn right at the eighth traffic light, onto Main Street. Follow Main Street approximately 12 blocks (crossing Belvidere Street) to North Laurel Street. Make a left onto N. Laurel Street. The VCU parking deck will be on your right.

Arriving from the West by Interstate 64 – Interstate 64 East will merge into Interstate 95 South. Follow 64 East/95 South to exit #76B (exit for US-1/Belvidere Street). From exit ramp, make left at light onto Leigh Street. Make a right at light onto Belvidere Street. Follow Belvidere (crossing Broad Street) until you reach Main Street. Make a right on Main and follow to next light. Make a left onto N. Laurel Street. The VCU parking deck will be on your right. 

Arriving from the North by Interstate 95 South – From 95 South, take exit #76B (exit for US-1/Belvidere Street) and follow directions above.

Arriving from the South by Interstate 95 North – Take Exit #74A onto Downtown Expressway, exiting at Belvidere Street. The road onto which you exit will be Canal Street. Continue on Canal, crossing Belvidere, and turn right onto Cherry Street. Follow Cherry to Cary Street. The entrance to the VCU parking deck will be on your right, at the corner of Cherry and Cary Streets.
