Welcome Back to School!

As we begin the 2021-2022 school year, Bishop Barry Knestout and Superintendent Kelly Lazzara reflect on the many challenges we have faced together over the past 18 months. They express their appreciation to staff, students and families for their devotion to Catholic education and share their excitement for the new school year.

Bishop Knestout expresses gratitude for the “courage and fortitude” of our principals and staff to manage “the complexities of in-person instruction last year.” As we begin the new school year, he encourages us to remember what Jesus taught us – all things are possible and with God’s help we will persevere. Bishop Knestout invites you to join him in praying “for the continued success of our schools, for the steadfast endurance of our school leadership, and for the resilience of our parents.”

Superintendent, Kelly Lazzara, shares how schools spend the busy summer months preparing for the new school year. She reminds us of the anticipation the first day of school always brings for “a new beginning, a fresh start.” This is especially true this school year. Mrs. Lazzara emphasizes the “masks we will be wearing will not hide the excitement that we have…as we walk the halls, gather in our classrooms and start learning new lessons.”
