Congratulations, Saint Matthew’s! Three 8th graders and two 7th graders walked away winners at the Fleet Reserve Association Essay Contest Awards Ceremony held on March 2. This year’s theme was “What Patriotism Means to Me” with entries submitted from schools across Hampton Roads. Over the past 8 years, Saint Matthew’s students have won $17,100 in prizes. Wow!
Congratulations to some very talented 8th graders! On Saturday, February 24th, Saint John the Apostle won first place in the South Hampton Roads Science Bowl at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School. The competition began in 2012, and this is the second time Saint John the Apostle has won first place. Under the leadership of science teacher, Adam Ratte, the team will participate in an upcoming Science Bowl held at Jefferson Lab.
