It is recommended that extemporaneous prayer is used for small groups, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Praying with Scripture is an easy way to start prayer. For those that are not comfortable with this type of prayer, list below are some Bible verses that would be beneficial to pray within a context of a small group.

The small group leader will also have to work on his or her own prayer life by asking himself/herself questions on when, where, and how long to pray, acquiring a habit of praying with Scripture and other spiritual reading.
