                    [post_content] => The Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services (CFCS) of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond seeks an Outreach Coordinator/Administrative Assistant.



This position will serve as the CFCS liaison and advocate for educating families on the Order of Christian Funerals, CFCS Mission Programs, products and services, and the benefits of Advanced Planning. The Outreach Coordinator/Administrative Assistant will be stationed at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA and will serve as the very first person that a family member will see or talk to. He or she is responsible for making a good first impression when greeting walks-in or answering inbound calls, and demonstrating by example CFCS’ Core Values in all their dealings with families, staff, and internal/external candidates.

The successful candidate will answer telephone calls and forward or relay messages to staff in a timely manner; communicate clearly and effectively with families, guests, staff, and others; build relationships with staff from CFCS locations, the Catholic Diocese, priests, parish staff, and local community leaders and organizations; coordinate with CFCS Marketing to prepare parish, marketing, and mail house deliverables; publish a monthly schedule for parish outreach (and community) events; and perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Some nights and weekends will be required.

Qualifications: College degree preferred, and/or 1 – 3 years of direct experience presenting to the public, working with public organizers, and providing customer service; should have knowledge of the rituals and traditions with regards to the Catholic faith; 1 – 3 years serving in parish, pastoral, or Catholic ministry positions a plus; ability to conduct oneself with a “Family First” approach; proficiency in MS Office; ability to plan and coordinate medium to large size outreach and community events; excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. Bilingual preferred. Valid state issued driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of auto liability insurance is required.

                    [post_content] => The Shalom House Retreat Center in Montpelier, VA, is seeking a Director to oversee the overall operational management of the facility. 



The Director will assure that the mission of the Shalom House is carried out in the day-to-day operations of the facility, and will have a good working knowledge in Catholic teaching along with a commitment to working with ecumenical and interfaith groups.

This position is responsible for managing most financial aspects along with all aspects of customer service and hospitality, from initial contact with Shalom House to billing and evaluation of the completed retreat. The Director is also responsible for conducting fundraising for enhancement of ministry goals, working with potential facilitators to offer retreats for the general public, and marketing and coordinating retreats by visiting local Catholic parishes, preparing print and online marketing materials, as well as taking guest reservations, deposits and payments for these retreats. Finally, the Director ensures compliance with all diocesan policy and federal/state regulations and Hanover County safety regulations, supervises staff to include scheduling, recruiting, new hires, training, performance evaluation, etc., as well as other duties.

Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in business management (operations, financials, sales/marketing, planning) some training and experience in retreat work preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills, working knowledge of computer proficiency – Quickbooks, Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, Email Marketing (i.e. MailChimp), Website Management, Social Media, experience working with consultants and strong leadership skills, organizational and planning skills, needs assessment and problem solving, interpersonal skills and conflict management required. The Director must be a Catholic in good standing grounded in prayer and spirituality.

The Director of Development will plan and manage all fundraising activities of Blessed Sacrament Huguenot (BSH) and will lead the engagement activities of the School with respect to all donors, alumni, and parents. Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

The Cluster Parishes of Portsmouth and Chesapeake seeks an energetic self-starter to serve as full-time Youth Minister for our four parishes. An active and creative person with a bold imagination for how to serve teens is who we want. 

We are looking for a practicing Catholic with a dynamic personality who works well with teens, is tech-savvy, and is well-versed in the use of current social media.

The Youth Minister coordinates all aspects of youth ministry under the direction of the pastor. Programs may include Life Teen, Edge, Confirmation preparation, coordinating youth service projects and events, and participating in diocesan youth ministry programs and meetings. The Youth Minister will establish and maintain the youth ministry budget, maintain administrative requirements for volunteers, maintain applicable records, and review or update curriculum as needed. Other additional functions may be specified by the pastor.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Education, Religious Studies, or a related field. Experience and/or certification equivalent to a degree may be considered. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.

Compensation commensurate with experience will be in accordance with current diocesan pay scales for Youth Ministry Coordinator.

Ability to apply modern accounting principles and procedures in a non-profit setting; ability to multi-task to handle multiple projects simultaneously; and ability to think analytically to identify discrepancies and errors in payroll reports. An ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and to create effective working relationships with employees and other departments is critical.

Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting, Business or closely related field, plus at least two years of full-time payroll or accounting experience in a high-volume environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Working knowledge of Kronos is desired and FCP or CPP preferred. This position will serve as the expert on payroll nuances related to the Church, including but not limited to, priest income taxes, deacon income taxes, and the processing of payroll for each.

Qualifications: A working knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, federal and state statutes pertaining to FLSA, tax status, and wage reduction programs, and computer operations is required, as well as some experience with analyzing and directing functional related activities within the scope of HRMS. Ability to apply modern accounting principles and procedures, preferably in a non-profit setting; ability to multi-task to handle multiple projects simultaneously; ability to think analytically to identify discrepancies and errors in payroll reports; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and to create effective working relationships with employees and other departments is critical.

A bachelor’s degree in related field (Accounting, Business) with a minimum of 4 years of payroll/HRIS experience in a high-volume environment is required, preferably with KRONOS experience. Certified Payroll Professional required/SHRM certificate desired. Supervisory experience desired. Must demonstrate confidentiality and the ability to work under strict deadlines.             [post_content] => The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is seeking a Payroll Specialist to process payroll in Kronos for diocesan locations and to be responsible for monitoring and auditing payroll submissions on a bi-weekly basis to ensure accurate payroll processing and to ensure compliance with diocesan policy and state/federal regulations.



The successful candidate will collaborate with parish and school Bookkeepers & Business Managers and assist in maintaining a wide variety of employee and payroll information submitted through Kronos (e.g. employee personal data, direct deposits, tax status, salary, voluntary and involuntary contributions, etc.) for compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines. The Payroll Specialist will perform periodic audits of payroll data to ensure accurate FLSA classification of employees as well as benefit eligibility, and communicate important updates and notices related to payroll or HRMS needs to all employing locations at the direction of the Payroll Manager, among other duties.

Qualifications: A working knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, federal and state statutes pertaining to FLSA, tax status, and wage reduction programs, and computer operations is necessary. Ability to apply modern accounting principles and procedures in a non-profit setting; ability to multi-task to handle multiple projects simultaneously; and ability to think analytically to identify discrepancies and errors in payroll reports. An ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and to create effective working relationships with employees and other departments is critical.

Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting, Business or closely related field, plus at least two years of full-time payroll or accounting experience in a high-volume environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Working knowledge of Kronos is desired and FCP or CPP preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate confidentiality and the ability to work under strict deadlines and possess a commitment to excellent customer service as evidenced through strong communication skills.

The Pastoral Musician oversees the musical component of liturgy including Sundays, Holy Days, weddings, funerals, reconciliation services, youth services and other liturgical services. This includes responsibility for managing, training, and rehearsing choirs, cantors, and instrumentalists. Additional duties may be assigned by the pastor as needed.

Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and musical requirements, to include a variety of liturgical preferences in style (traditional, contemporary, praise and worship, etc.). Proficiency on piano, organ, and voice required. Proficiency in additional instruments are a plus. Undergraduate degree in music performance, music education, choral studies, or similar field desirable. Experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree. Must be able to work with various ages and musical abilities. Although religion is not a specific qualification requirement, applicant must lead a life in harmony with general Christian principles.

We are looking for a practicing Catholic with a dynamic personality who works well with teens, is tech-savvy, and is well-versed in the use of current social media.

The Youth Minister coordinates all aspects of youth ministry under the direction of the pastor. Programs may include Life Teen, Edge, Confirmation preparation, coordinating youth service projects and events, and participating in diocesan youth ministry programs and meetings. The Youth Minister will establish and maintain the youth ministry budget, maintain administrative requirements for volunteers, maintain applicable records, and review or update curriculum as needed. Other additional functions may be specified by the pastor.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Education, Religious Studies, or a related field. Experience and/or certification equivalent to a degree may be considered. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.

Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Catholic School seeks a Director of Development for the 2018-2019 school year and beyond.

The Director of Development will plan and manage all fundraising activities of Blessed Sacrament Huguenot (BSH) and will lead the engagement activities of the School with respect to all donors, alumni, and parents. The position is highly collaborative; the Director of Development will be expected to work closely with the Development Committee of the Advisory Board in visioning and planning as well as will work closely with other members of the staff, Board, and volunteers in implementing BSH’s development efforts. The Director of Development will be responsible for the following:

  • Creating and developing a strategic fundraising vision for development efforts that will sustain and strengthen the mission and philosophy of BSH

  • Maintaining and refining annual fundraising strategies, goals, and benchmarks to promote the growth of development efforts with direct and planned gifts

  • Maintaining positive relationships with donors, alumni, friends, prospective families/students and supporters of BSH, and work to develop long term relationships

  • Managing annual fundraising activities, including mail appeals, special events, donor cultivation/recognition projects, and spearheading new activities, where appropriate

  • Identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects (current parents, alumni parents, corporations, foundations, community business owners)

  • Developing and refining and effective program for recognition and stewardship of all donors

  • Supervision of fundraising-related activities of the Assistant Director of Development, including donor records and gift receipts

  • Participation in organizational budgeting, strategic planning, and Board development

  • Providing staff support to the Development Committee of the Advisory Board

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Able to initiate and build relationships with prospective major donors/prospects, with a proven record of accomplishment in securing funding from individual donor sources

  • Excellent writing, editing, analytical skills, and oral communication skills with the ability to compellingly communication the vision and mission of BSH

  • Self-motivated and disciplined with strong organizational skills and time-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet schedules and manage multiple deadlines while maintaining the highest quality of work and professionalism

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends; including but not limited to attending Advisory Board meetings, Development Committee meetings, other committee meetings as requested, and school events

This position will serve as the CFCS liaison and advocate for educating families on the Order of Christian Funerals, CFCS Mission Programs, products and services, and the benefits of Advanced Planning. The Outreach Coordinator/Administrative Assistant will be stationed at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA and will serve as the very first person that a family member will see or talk to. He or she is responsible for making a good first impression when greeting walks-in or answering inbound calls, and demonstrating by example CFCS’ Core Values in all their dealings with families, staff, and internal/external candidates.

                    [post_content] => The Shalom House Retreat Center in Montpelier, VA, is seeking a Director to oversee the overall operational management of the facility. 



The Director will assure that the mission of the Shalom House is carried out in the day-to-day operations of the facility, and will have a good working knowledge in Catholic teaching along with a commitment to working with ecumenical and interfaith groups.

This position is responsible for managing most financial aspects along with all aspects of customer service and hospitality, from initial contact with Shalom House to billing and evaluation of the completed retreat. The Director is also responsible for conducting fundraising for enhancement of ministry goals, working with potential facilitators to offer retreats for the general public, and marketing and coordinating retreats by visiting local Catholic parishes, preparing print and online marketing materials, as well as taking guest reservations, deposits and payments for these retreats. Finally, the Director ensures compliance with all diocesan policy and federal/state regulations and Hanover County safety regulations, supervises staff to include scheduling, recruiting, new hires, training, performance evaluation, etc., as well as other duties.

Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in business management (operations, financials, sales/marketing, planning) some training and experience in retreat work preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills, working knowledge of computer proficiency – Quickbooks, Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, Email Marketing (i.e. MailChimp), Website Management, Social Media, experience working with consultants and strong leadership skills, organizational and planning skills, needs assessment and problem solving, interpersonal skills and conflict management required. The Director must be a Catholic in good standing grounded in prayer and spirituality.

The Director will assure that the mission of the Shalom House is carried out in the day-to-day operations of the facility, and will have a good working knowledge in Catholic teaching along with a commitment to working with ecumenical and interfaith groups.

This position is responsible for managing most financial aspects along with all aspects of customer service and hospitality, from initial contact with Shalom House to billing and evaluation of the completed retreat. The Director is also responsible for conducting fundraising for enhancement of ministry goals, working with potential facilitators to offer retreats for the general public, and marketing and coordinating retreats by visiting local Catholic parishes, preparing print and online marketing materials, as well as taking guest reservations, deposits and payments for these retreats. Finally, the Director ensures compliance with all diocesan policy and federal/state regulations and Hanover County safety regulations, supervises staff to include scheduling, recruiting, new hires, training, performance evaluation, etc., as well as other duties.

Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in business management (operations, financials, sales/marketing, planning) some training and experience in retreat work preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills, working knowledge of computer proficiency – Quickbooks, Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, Email Marketing (i.e. MailChimp), Website Management, Social Media, experience working with consultants and strong leadership skills, organizational and planning skills, needs assessment and problem solving, interpersonal skills and conflict management required. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Practicing Catholic with a strong commitment and working knowledge of the Catholic faith
  • Master’s Degree with graduate work in curriculum, instruction, supervisor or another related field
  • Five years of experience as a teacher or administrator
  • Currently hold or be able to obtain/ hold a valid NC administrators license
  • A strong communicator and manager who listens and communicates effectively and consistently

  • Provide overall coordination to current SHC youth and children’s programming, including College and Career Bound, ExcELL, Pasitos Exitosos, Cielito Lindo summer camp, Art Studio, Kids of the Corazon, Boy Scouts
  • In partnership with Director of Programs, provide supervision to youth program staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and required training
  • Create a yearly plan for youth programming that seeks to expand SHC current youth programs, aligned with resources available
  • Ensure information is tracked by program staff and prepare reports concerning youth programs, costs, numbers of participants, equipment and facility use, and other program indicators, as required by funding sources
  • Provide monthly and yearly reports about youth programs and opportunities
  • Ensure that all programs, activities, and volunteers are implemented and operating according to relevant policies and procedures
Assist with Administration/Program Support
  • Support other Center educational programs on an as needed basis
  • Support additional administrative needs of office on an as needed basis
  • Work as part of a team with other SHC staff to accomplish overall organizational goals

  • Makes sure bus is clean at the end of a trip.
  • Promotes safety at all times by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
  • Ensures that bus rules are announced and followed.
  • Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children. Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor.
  • Comply with all emergency procedures appropriate to the bus and in conformity with procedures adopted by emergency service authorities to ensure the safety of the children and staff
  • Consistently demonstrate positive interaction with all children and adults; talk to them and treat them with dignity and respect
  • During the time not driving (in between routes): Maintains, services and conducts minor repairs on buildings and equipment.

This is a part-time, hourly position.
