Coordinator of Faith Formation, Youth and Evangelization (Full Time) at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (Virginia Beach)

Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Virginia Beach is seeking a full time Coordinator of Faith Formation, Youth and Evangelization.

This position oversees the catechetical ministries and evangelization of the parish under the supervision of the Pastor and in collaboration with pastoral staff and ministry volunteers. In implementing and maintaining an integrated “whole of life” formation program at the parish, this position involves direct coordination/implementation of catechetical formation for youth through 12th grade, and collaborative support and ministry in other areas of formation. The Coordinator of Faith Formation, Youth, and Evangelization will work in collaboration with the parish staff, and also works directly with parents, catechists, aides and other volunteers. The Coordinator of Faith Formation, Youth, and Evangelization reports directly to the pastor. The Coordinator of Faith Formation, Youth, and Evangelization is the direct supervisor of the Assistant Coordinator for Faith Formation

Preferred qualifications include: A combination equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Education or Theology, five years of professional work experience and three years professional experience working in a parish or related staff position. The Coordinator of Faith Formation, Youth, and  Evangelization must be a practicing Catholic in good standing and must adhere to  Catholic teaching and demonstrate a commitment to the Church in the performance of  his/her ministry. Proficiency with office productivity applications (Microsoft Office Suite) is necessary.

The position requires an average of at least 40 hours a week. There are regular weekend working days as well as evening classes. The Coordinator of Faith Formation, Youth, and Evangelization will be available for regular and consistent office hours during part of the normal working day. Attendance at local, regional and diocesan meetings related to the position will necessitate some time away from the parish. The work schedule is established through dialogue with the pastor and can be adjusted to maintain workflow and avoid excessive hours.
