Saint Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg has an opportunity for a full time Associate Director of Music.

Applicants should have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music or have equivalent education and/or experience.

Requirements include extensive proficiency on organ as Saint Bede has a 54 rank Buzard pipe organ, complimented by a Steinway Model D piano, on which piano proficiency is also expected. Vocal skills would be welcome. Education or experience with handbell choirs and choral conducting also desired. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and within the norms of the Diocese of Richmond.

As one of the largest parishes in the Diocese, the Associate Director of Music will be working as a team member within the Office of Liturgy & Music.  Responsibilities include shared accompanying duties for daily, weekend, and seasonal liturgies; holy days, weddings, funerals, and other parish celebrations. Saint Bede music program includes adult and youth vocal choirs and handbell choirs. Additional responsibilities involve directing the Spanish choir and performing related duties for all liturgies in Spanish.
