For Immediate Release: November 1, 2019

Bishop Knestout Statement Following Richmond Businessman and Philanthropist Marcus Weinstein Million Dollar Gift to All Saints Catholic School and Richmond’s All Saints Catholic School Groundbreaking
“How fitting that we are celebrating the groundbreaking at All Saints School on the day Catholics celebrate all the saints in the Church. At a time when the quality of education and the safety of our schools is a nationwide concern, we have been blessed by the generosity of Marcus and Carole Weinstein,” said the Most Rev. Barry C. Knestout, bishop of Richmond. “His $1 million investment in All Saints School is the result of his having seen firsthand the school’s commitment to providing academic success, teaching leadership and other life skills and instilling Christian values that will serve students and their communities.”

“We are grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Weinstein for recognizing the work All Saints School has accomplished,” continued Bishop Knestout, “and for providing the resources needed for the school to continue moving forward in the years to come.”

Statement from the Superintendent of Catholic Schools

“What an exciting time and opportunity for the All Saints Catholic School community. We break ground today to build a strong foundation to increase the physical size of the school,” said Kelly Lazzara, superintendent of the Office of Catholic Schools. “In addition, this endeavor will allow All Saints Catholic School to build upon its strong spiritual and academic foundation for even more students well into the future! The generosity of the Weinstein family will benefit the students of this school and the entire community. Our Catholic school family is grateful to the Weinsteins, as well as to all the loyal contributors and benefactors of this wonderful school community who are making this project possible.”
