Middle School Math Teacher at St. John Neumann Academy (Blacksburg)

As a cornerstone of our educational mission, a Middle School Teacher at St. John Neumann Academy (Blacksburg) plays a vital role in nurturing young minds and preparing our students for their High School years ahead.

Responsibilities include teaching Middle School Math and Algebra I aligned with the school’s curriculum and standards, coordinate/lead homeroom responsibilities for one of the Middle School Classes; teaching one Middle School Enhancement Class (to be determined based on selected candidate’s past experience/expertise); foster a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and cooperation; communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues; actively participate in school-wide events, meetings, and professional development opportunities; uphold the mission and values of SJNA in all aspects of teaching and interactions with students, parents, and staff.

Selected candidate must have a B.A. or M.A.in Middle School Education/Curriculum Instruction, a current VA teacher license or in the process of obtaining a VA teaching license with an endorsement to teach Middle School Math and Algebra I, be creative/flexible, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be willing to contribute positively to our dynamic school community, and excited to teach in an academically rigorous and collaborative school environment.
