St. Pius X Catholic School (Norfolk, VA) has an opening for a Part-Time Elementary Music teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

Successful candidates will foster the mission of the school, instill a love and appreciation of music, adhere to the Diocesan prescribed curriculum, create engaging lesson plans, foster critical thinking skills, implement innovative and differentiated instructional strategies, use 21st century teaching skills including digital learning, and work collaboratively with the faculty.

The candidate must be organized, possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and maintain an effective, welcoming, and supportive Christ-centered classroom learning environment. The candidate will help coordinate programs within the school; e.g., Carol Night, Spring Arts Festival performances, etc.

Qualifications:

• Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an approved program for Music (Elementary K-5) education preferred.
• Computer literate and technologically proficient.
• Highly organized and motivated.
• Start Date: 2024-2025 School Year (10-month contract beginning August 2024)

Appropriate degree with a Virginia teaching license with accompanying Music endorsement is required.
