St. Bridget Catholic Church – Richmond is currently seeking a Social Ministry Director (SMD).

This position is full-time, 35-hours per week, which can include some evenings and weekends.  The SMD coordinates parish outreach efforts to those in need in our area and beyond. Duties include responding to inquiries for financial assistance, coordinating holiday food and gift drives, and coordinating volunteers. The SMD will interface with clergy, staff, parishioners, outside communities and charitable organizations on a daily basis.

Candidate must be a practicing Catholic. Bachelor’s degree in theology, social work, or related field required; master’s degree preferred. Three to five years of experience working in social ministry or underserved populations. Must have an understanding of Catholic Social Teaching; compassion and excellent people skills, especially toward those in need; ability to keep organized and accurate records and budgets; ability to handle several projects at once; ability to maintain confidentiality.
