Youth Minister at Church of the Epiphany (Chesterfield)

Church of the Epiphany is actively seeking an energetic, dynamic individual who is enthusiastic about engaging the youth of our parish in faith formation, fellowship activities, and other church ministries that bring them into a closer relationship with Jesus and help them grow as disciples of Christ.

The Youth Minister’s main responsibilities are centered around youth grades 6-12. This staff member also has focused engagement in an interactive fellowship ministry with youth and parents, as well as provides guidance to catechists and volunteers. The Youth Minister utilizes the Life Teen® program, designed to engage youth, to provide faith formation and encourage inclusion in parish life and leads the preparation classes for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

We are looking for that unique individual who has a passion for church ministry as well as the ability to organize and implement an interesting and engaging ministry for our youth.

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, paid leave, 403b matching and more.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in church ministry, education, evangelization and/or training.
  • Practicing Catholic who fully adheres to and models the Church’s teachings.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, including time management and event planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products as well as cloud-based database programs.

Church of the Epiphany is a welcoming, dynamic parish located in northern Chesterfield County in the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, Virginia. The parish has more than 50 ministries, serves over 1,200 families and has active outreach and community life ministries. There are 250 children in the faith formation programs ages 2 – 12th grade. The average age of the parish is 49; approximately 20% are under the age of 21.
